Amazon has announced that its Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage—which disrupted major parts of the internet on Monday—has finally been resolved. The massive cloud service failure affected a wide range of online platforms worldwide, including social media networks, streaming services, food delivery apps, gaming servers, and financial systems.
The day-long disruption highlighted how much today’s digital infrastructure depends on a handful of powerful tech companies whose systems usually run seamlessly—until something goes wrong.
According to Amazon’s AWS Health Dashboard, the issue began early Monday morning. The company started partial recovery after about three hours, and by 6 p.m. Eastern Time, all services were reported back to normal.
